Actually drop by your blog often just don't comment much.. Looking forward to your new design. I have missed tweeting with you also, I haven't been on twitter as much either. I am focusing more on family and work, I believe that is where God wants my focus to be right now, second to my focus on Him of course. But I do still get on occasionally and I am always blessed when I see one of your tweets posted. Grace and peace through our Lord Jesus, to you also, JM!

Re: New Year Prayers of a Weak and Broken Soul

Hello, Cece!

Nice of you to drop by the blog (it's on hiatus though since I'm finishing up the new design).

For the debate between Dr. White and Dr. Brown you can download them here, for part 1:
http://aberrationblog.wordp...
and for part 2:
http://aberrationblog.wordp...

I think I saw that video too a while back. It really is a sad thing to observe how inveterately blind people are against the truth of God's Word.

"I pray that through his debates and studying, God will open his eyes and save him through faith in Jesus Christ as the only begotten Son of God, his Lord and Savior."
---Amen, sister.

Miss exchanging tweets with you, praying for you and yours! White v. Dr. Michael Brown Debate > http://ping.fm/0Z24S you posted on twitter. Interesting, would like to hear the rest of it. Did you see the debate between Dr White and Sami Zaatari? I noticed it on Utube after watching the clip you posted. I mention it because I didn't realize until the end it was posted by Muslims By Choice. I couldn't believe the statement of the Muslims at the end. It was sad to see someone so informed yet so blind to the truth. I pray that through his debates and studying, God will open his eyes and save him through faith in Jesus Christ as the only begotten Son of God, his Lord and Savior. God bless you in all you do. Keep up the Good work!

Re: Evangelicalism Stands or Falls with Calvinism

Couldn't agree more. I think the biggest problems we calvinist-evangelicals have is the misunderstanding of 'labels' both by believers and the world in general.

I just hate undefined terms. This quote is an excellent example of good definition.

We used to use the term evangelical to identify what kind of Christians we are. (Even the label "Christian" was the worlds attempt to define those who followed Christ. Acts 11:26). Now the terms evangelical has been so widely used and abused that it is no longer definitive.

The term 'reformed' is fairly widely used amongst Calvinists, but I'm not sure that its a term widely understood by either Christians or the world, so I tend to use it only with those whom I know appreciate its nuance.

I have two problems with the label 'Calvinist'. It has so much baggage encumbered with it, most of which is the result of a complete ignorance of what Calvin actually stood for. The second reason is that I'm uncomfortable with any label that attaches me to another 'man'. I am not a follower of Calvin - I read his theology, I accept his theology, but I am a Christ follower - not a man follower.

Re: Evangelicalism Stands or Falls with Calvinism

Wow, what a great quote. We must be faithful to uphold the Gospel to expose all sin and self-righteousness to bring him/her to repentance and faith in Christ Jesus.

Re: Sinners Need to Feel “Accepted and Loved” First.

If it's openly practiced sin, and the person is a supposed member of the church, church discipline must be exercised by the pastorate. And yes, we as lay-people and fellow members in the body of Christ should and must confront them ourselves too for the sanctity of the Word and Gospel.

The dividing line is here though, there are those who confront but not in the basis of truth, but in the basis of preference. Yet there are those too who confront, masquerading themselves as defender of truth and Gospel yet putting the person in question in damning despair and despondency.

Confrontation of sin must be rooted from the Word and the Gospel of free grace, through the Spirit of God, only there can true repentance and reconciliation can be achieved.

Re: Sinners Need to Feel “Accepted and Loved” First.

I confront the person if he opens up and I hear the story from him/her.

Re: God’s Sovereign Kingship

Thank you sister! Romans 9:15 - "I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion". Some recieve mercy and the rest recieve justice! God is not our divine "bellboy". God did not create us for our pleasure! He is all about His glory!

Re: God’s Sovereign Kingship

Brother - excellent article and a very timely message!

You wrote, "These preachers would tell you that the reason you are poor and helpless is because you didn’t have enough faith or that you didn’t pray enough and tithe enough. Let them have their religion and let them take it to their graves, that is not the religion of the Bible."

It couldn't be truer. The heresy of American individualism has infiltrated most churches in America and out of it (for sadly, we export so much heresy in supposed "missions). The religion in most churches is that of "Do good and God will do good to you" - whether it take the form of prosperity preaching, charismatic "faith power", or even down to false theologies of prayer. It is nothing more than the religion of those in the east of karma and divine retribution.

It belies the truth that you so articulately proclaimed: That God is a sovereign and that none can stay His hand. His will is eternal as is His decree - no man shall change it with his feeble hands. This is the glorious hope of His true children and the terrorizing fear of the heathen. Yet, this is the Lord our God. Let us never preach another, but this mighty King.

Thank you very much for this article - for fearlessly pronouncing our God. I pray that He would make and send out more laborers like yourself.
